		Welcome Purple Heart Members - Veterans - Viewers.

Our chapter meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at the Winona Legion Post 7p.m. Our chapter is The Jewel of the South located in the lower southeast corner of our state. So far we have 44 members in our chapter. We are involved with our community and as always “Veterans Helping Veterans” A donation to our chapter would be put to good use and much appreciated. 	Purple Heart Monument Honoring All Purple Heart Recipients of All Wars Our chapter is currently involved with buying and erecting like this monument. We Need Help! Please donate to the monument fund with our chapter for this project to be erected in the fall of 2012 in the Winona MN Veterans Park. If you have a Purple Heart, paving stones with your name on them and theater will be sold to make a walk way around monument.

	The Minnesota Department of The Purple Heart is still offering Free Life Membership into our organization. Minnesota is the only state of our national organization that offers this. There are over 1200 members in Minnesota.


	Application for membership


	You will need to furnish a copy of your discharge document DD-214 or other with proof of being awarded a Purple Heart.


	Chartered by Congress in 1958, The Military Order of the Purple Heart is composed of military men and women who received the Purple Heart Medal for wounds suffered in combat. Although our membership is restricted to the combat wounded, we support all veterans and their families with a myriad of nation-wide programs by Chapters and National Service Officers.
